Two-layer protection without the weight. That’s the point of this suit.
Most drivers who step up from a single-layer suit are looking for more fire protection — but they don’t want to feel like they’re wrapped in a moving blanket. The SFI 3.2A/5 rating means two layers of certified Nomex, a TPP rating of 19, and substantially more protection than a single-layer option — while still being light enough that you’ll forget you’re wearing it after the first few laps.
Why Choose a Two-Layer Suit?
The SFI 3.2A/1 single-layer suit is a starting point. Many club-level classes accept it. But if you’re running a more competitive series, moving into higher-horsepower classes, or simply want better peace of mind, the 3.2A/5 is the more common choice among experienced drivers.
The two-layer construction traps more air between the layers, which is what actually slows heat transfer. You’re buying time — seconds that matter if something goes wrong on track. For the weight trade-off, which is minimal in this suit, it’s an easy decision for most drivers.
What’s Included on Every Suit

Who This Suit Is For
Road racers, oval drivers, dirt late model pilots, sprint car drivers, and anyone competing in a class that requires or recommends SFI 3.2A/5 certification. It’s also popular with drivers running wheel-to-wheel racing for the first time who want real protection at a fair price.
If you’re competing under CASC, ASN Canada, or regional oval series rules, this suit meets the fire protection requirements for most classes. Confirm your rulebook before ordering.
